Background

The XV World Forestry Congress will feature papers and posters as well as videos from authors around the world. Submissions should be relevant to the central theme of the Congress – Building a green, healthy and resilient future with forests.

The World Forestry Congress is held every six years and is the world’s largest global gathering of foresters. It provides a unique opportunity to strengthen international cooperation with forest supporters and intersectoral partners by sharing expertise and experiences, and by projecting a vision of the future roles of forests in global sustainable development. The XV World Forestry Congress will be held in the Republic of Korea from 2 to 6 May 2022. It will emphasize the role of forests in the context of the Global Forest Goals, Paris Agreement, post-2020 global biodiversity framework and the 2030 Agenda, and will also identify key measures and enrich the prospective future of forests.

Submissions of papers, posters and videos provide an opportunity for participants to share experience, good practices and innovations with a global audience and to contribute to the enrichment of discussions and reflection on the Congress theme and sub-themes. It also presents an occasion to strengthen partnerships and knowledge, while the world strives to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and keep on track towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
